Customer: Daimler Chrysler
Project: HVAC Renovation
Start Date: 5/1/04 Completion Date: 7/1/04

DaimlerChrysler had the unique task of taking an existing penthouse with four steam HVAC units and converting them to direct fired natural gas units. TMI was called to conduct a project feasibility survey and perform the preliminary engineering. The survey results showed that refurbishing the existing penthouse was a more cost effective alternative than replacing it.

Using local sheet metal, piping and electrical contractors to perform the work allowed TMI to operate as a General Contractor and provide Technical Expertise during the reconstruction process. TMI Factory Technicians were onsite for start-up and commissioning.

The upfront planning and coordination resulted in a successful project for the customer. There were no injuries, overtime or lost production in the two months it took to complete the HVAC renovation and the project was completed on time and within the set budget. TMI’s flexibility to work with contractors around the globe provides customer service that sets TMI apart from the competition.
