HVAC Renovation
Start
Date: 4/1/04 Completion Date: 11/1/04
General Motors Willow Run Powertrain
took existing space that was not being used and
converted it into a new transmission production
facility. The existing HVAC systems had not been
maintained due to a lack of use. TMI was contracted
to survey the existing HVAC system and report back
to General Motors the condition and possibility
of converting the units to a more efficient system.
Upon
award of the HVAC refurbishment contract, TMI proceeded
to re-work the existing components in preparation
for new internal equipment. The following equipment
was installed in the sixteen existing air-handling
units:
Intake dampers and return air dampers
Mist Collection filters and final filters
Burner and gas train assembly
Supply fan motor, bearings, sheaves on spring isolators
PLC controls temperature controls and Motor Controls
Exhaust fan start panels with interlock.
Major
Equipment used for installation:
Fork Trucks
Hydraulic Cranes
Construction Helicopters
JLG, Scissor Lifts and Single man lifts
TMI
provided a complete turnkey system from engineering,
fabrication, installation and commissioning. The
project was completed on schedule and thanks to
some cost savings ideas we were able to finish under
General Motor's budget.
TMI’s
expertise in HVAC systems has made us the leader
