Project: Delta Township Assembly
Completion: December, 2004
The
new General Motors Assembly plant in Delta Township,
MI, required 36 custom air-handling units at 60,000
cfm each to meet the HVAC needs of the facility. The
challenge was to provide just in time delivery throughout
the construction process for each unit as they were
needed. TMI met the delivery needs on every unit without
fail.
There
were a variety of units that were needed on the project.
Of the 36 units 6 were Direct Fired Natural Gas and
the remaining 30 utilized combination cooling/heating
coils. 16 of the units required a pulse jet filter
wall with a cylindrical media system. All of the units
utilized 2” foam wall construction. The exterior
skin of the unit matched the building exterior to
eliminate architectural screening and provide unsurpassed
aesthetics.
TMI
delivered each custom unit pre-piped and pre-wired
to a single point connection complete with temperature
and motor controls. The units with direct-fired burners
were shipped complete with fire suppression sprinkler
systems installed and pre-piped.
TMI
continues to push forward by meeting the quality,
efficiency and schedule requirements set forth by
our clients.
